The team at Ground One Enterprises was honored to receive three awards in Minneapolis this past March. The awards, given by the Minnesota Nursery and Landscape Association (MNLA), were awarded to Ground One for Excellence in Landscape Design.
Nathan Anderson (left) received a Grand Honor award for his contemporary, backyard, Minneapolis landscape design. The design included all aspects of the client’s wishlist including a firepit, grilling area, flexible patio space, a water feature, new fencing, landscape lighting, irrigation and low-maintenance plantings; designed in a beautiful and compelling manner that complemented the home’s architecture.
Derek Harwood (middle) received a Grand Honor award for a backyard, Minneapolis landscape design. Overall, the design integrated the client’s existing pool and plantings with new layers of structure, plantings, and materials which updated a tired landscape and created a harmonious textural environment.
Pat Weiss (right) also received a Grand Honor award for a backyard, Bloomington landscape design. The design was an extensive series of layered spaces created for the homeowners’ enjoyment. Each of the landscape components relied on contrasting textures and simplicity of forms. The design included an Asian theme and varied spaces, from a pond with waterfalls, and a woodland garden. The result is a suburban oasis for the clients and a diverse array of wildlife, which added to the delight of the landscape experience.
