The team at Ground One Landscape + Design +Build + Maintain is honored to receive the news that the Suckow-Ziemer Residence at 5900 Olinger Blvd. in Edina received the Edina Heritage Preservation Commission’s Edina Heritage Award. Ground One was heavily involved in completing the mid-century modern project.

Edina Heritage Award

The Edina Heritage Preservation Commission (HPC) sponsors an annual Edina Heritage Award to showcase local historic preservation activity.

The Edina Heritage Award is given to an individual, family, company or organization that has contributed to the historic fabric of the community and made an outstanding contribution to the preservation, rehabilitation, restoration and use of Edina’s heritage resource. The heritage resource must be located in the City of Edina.

2021 Recipient

A classic Mid-Century Modern home in the Countryside Neighborhood was recognized with the 2021 Edina Heritage Award.

The Suckow-Ziemer Residence at 5900 Olinger Blvd., owned by Steven Suckow and Holly Ziemer, was recognized for its architecture and details, which follow classic California Modern designs refined by Joseph Eichler and others. The house was built in 1966 by the Lundgren Company. Suckow and Ziemer purchased it in 2008.

Previous winners include the Baker Home, Vayda House, Savory’s Gardens, Arthur Erickson House, Southdale Center, the Convention Grill, St. Stephen’s Episcopal Church, the Baird House and the Edina Cinema for its iconic sign. Learn more about past winners here.”
